Click a visitor to see who they are

Visitors on the live map used to be dots you could look at but not question. Now you can click one.

What the card shows

A pixel profile card pins itself next to the visitor with everything worth knowing about them right now:

  • Their identity for the day, name and emoji
  • Country flag, city and country
  • Device and browser
  • Where they came from
  • The page they are on right now
  • How long they have been on your site
  • Estimated value, when your site has revenue attached

There is a link straight through to their full journey if you want the whole path.

Scope, honestly

Everything on the card is this session and today. Nothing more.

On cookieless sites, which is the default, a visitor gets a new identity every day by design. There is no cross-day history to show, so the card does not invent one. Sites in cookie mode see more, and the card says so.

The card follows its visitor. If more people arrive in the same city and the marker turns into a cluster while the card is open, the card stays on the person you opened. It closes on its own when they leave.
